The organizations listed in this section offer advocacy training related to community, spirituality and Earth stewardship. Vessel Garden is actively exploring the definition of "advocacy" in determining which resources are most resonant with the purpose of this site - this page will continue to evolve in the near future.
EAT began in late 2000 when author and activist Starhawk and permaculture designer and master teacher Penny Livingston-Stark asked some new questions: "What can permaculturalists and activists learn from each other that would make each more effective? What skills do people need to know in order to really 'save the planet'? How can we teach these skills in ways that ripple out to others?" Attend an Earth Activist Training (EAT), and take home proven, practical systems and skills you can use in your daily life to create the world you want to live in. Led by an experienced team of core, guest, and student teachers, foundational EAT courses weave magic, nature awareness, ritual, and activism into rigorous permaculture programs.
